Anjum and Shriyanka, International rifle shooters are raising funds to support workers who supoort their training and competitions at the Karni Singh Shooting Range in Delhi.

About the Cause Champions

Anjum Moudgil and Shriyanka Sadangi are international rifle shooters. They are good friends and have grown up together on the Indian shooting circuit. They train at Karni Singh Shooting Range in Delhi where international events and national camps are usually held.

About the Cause

Many daily wage workers have been very severely affected due to the pandemic. With the help of coaches, Anjum and Shriyanka have identified a group of 15 daily wage workers who are ground staff workers at the Karni Singh shooting range in Delhi (also called the Butt-Party).

They have been hit extremely hard due to the ongoing crisis as they have not been able to find work due to the stoppage of national camps and postponement of the ISSF Delhi World Cup in March. Through this cause, we want to raise funds to support those workers and their families can be supported in this time of need. Even a small contribution will go a long way in helping them make ends meet.

The aim is to raise Rs. 4.5 Lakhs initially, to be able to provide a grant of Rs. 10,000 per month to each of the workers for the next 3 months so that they can sustain their families.

Intended Beneficiaries

The intended beneficiaries are 15 daily wagers who work at the shooting range when any competitions or camps occur. They help out at the shooting range in various roles such as setting up targets, filling cylinders, clearing targets and other small jobs. They are essential for having smooth training sessions and seamless competitions. Thus, they have supported many of India’s top shooters and have contributed to India’s tremendous growth in the sport.

Now is the time for us to contribute and support them through this tough period so that they can continue to be involved with shooting post the pandemic.
