We have launched a fundraiser in order to support our young participants and their families by providing them with basic hygiene kits.

About the Organisation

Pro Sport Development is an award-winning organisation dedicated to using sport for the holistic development of children and youth, through direct implementation of sport and development programs, training of facilitators and evaluating the impact of sport and development programs.

About the Cause

Since September 2015, PSD has been implementing the Community Sports Program in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, working with children from low-income families, studying in under-resourced schools in various slum settlements. PSD utilizes physical activity and multi-sports to aid in the holistic development of children between the ages of 5-15 years, by improving their physical health and well-being as well as social, personality and cognitive development.

Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 and nationwide lockdown that has followed, schools in Bhubaneswar have been closed till at least June 2020 and our programs in the city have come to a halt. However, we are committed to helping the children that we work with, especially in these times of crisis.

In light of this, we have launched a fundraiser in order to support our young participants and their families by providing them with basic hygiene kits. With these kits, we hope to provide children with the necessary tools and information to stay safe and healthy during these difficult times.

These hygiene kits will include:

  • · Face masks
  • · Soap (bars)
  • · Pamphlets which will contain information on COVID-19 and necessary precautions, as well as simple home fitness routines for children to engage in physical activity during the lockdown.
  • · Sanitary Pads (for adolescent female participants)

The total cost of one hygiene kit for children will be approximately Rs.120.

Additionally, PSD is also looking to support schools that we partner with in Bhubaneswar by improving their sanitation systems by providing them with liquid soap dispensers as well as 20 litres of liquid soap. These kits for schools will cost Rs. 5,000 each.

Through support from the International Table Tennis Foundation and an online crowdfunding campaign, PSD has already secured funding to reach out to 1500 children and four partner schools, but is now looking to support another 750 children and their families and two more partner schools through this campaign.

We believe that this initiative will greatly benefit the children we work with as well as their communities, and look forward to make a difference through your donations!
